Barracuda Taphouse and Grill

3035, Fuller St, Miami

Barracuda Taphouse and Grill is a favourite of Coconut Grove locals and University of Miami students alike – a must for sports lovers looking for good value and a relaxed atmosphere. In keeping with much of Coconut Grove, the décor focuses on Miami’s rich maritime history, with the bars namesake found all over the ceiling and walls. Ryan Pfeffer writing for TimeOut describes the bar as “a bar with personality that doesn’t particularly care about impressing you – but is more than happy to get you drunk”

Black Market

168, SE 1st St, Miami

Self-proclaimed as a “sports bar for Miamians by Miamians”, Black Market’s walls are covered with screens that will make sure you don’t miss so much as a minute of your team’s game. Far from the rustic atmosphere at Barracuda, Black Market is a sleeker affair where the bar serves a more extensive cocktail menu alongside the classics. If you are hungry mid game then there is a wide variety of dishes on offer. Black Market is not a sports bar to be left off your list, it does not disappoint.

Shuckers Bar and Grill

1819, 79th St Causeway

Shuckers Bar and Grill as the name suggests is a waterfront bar in the North Bay Village that serves up a great selection of fresh and local seafood alongside a great selection of drinks. Like Black Market, almost every game you can think of is shown at Shuckers on one of the 30+ TVs in the bar, so whether you support one of Miami’s teams or not you won’t be disappointed. After a difficult period in 2013 after the bar’s deck collapsed, Shuckers is well and truly back and the perfect place to watch sport and take in the waterfront views.

American Social

690, SW 1st Ct

Located in north Brickell just a stones throw away from the buzz of Downtown Miami, American Social doubles not only as a great sports bar but also as a popular brunch spot. On gameday American Social is one of the busiest and best places to be with regulars and newbies alike treated to great food, drinks and a view of the river. What is not to like? Craft beer lovers are also in for a treat here, with an number of beers on tap. American Social should be at or near the top of the list for every sports lover in Miami.
